Wright Construction received a phone call in the early Spring of 2012 from Dickinson Hussman Architects.
“We have a very tight budget for a project in the Mehlville School District because the funds available have come from the savings in their operations. The efforts to secure funding through a bond issue had previously failed and there is a desperate need for a state of the art performing arts center within the Mehlville School District, we need your help.”
Potentially adding to the budget problems was the location originally selected on the Mehlville campus for the new building. Wright Construction was brought on board to help DHA and Mehlville School District with site logistics constructability, budgeting, phasing, and scheduling during the design phases. Ultimately it was Wright’s insight in relocating the building to its current location on the campus that allowed all the needs to be met.
Wright Construction then proceeded to competitively bid the project against ten other general contractors and win the bid.
