With the successes realized at the Herculaneum High School Press Box and Concession Facility, Dickinson Hussmann asked Wright to help with constructability review and budgeting for the new facilities at the Kirkwood High School Stadium. It took two rounds of issuing documents and bidding the project, as additional funding for this project was provided by a recent NFL star that happened to be a graduate of Kirkwood High School – Jeremy Maclin – and in both instances Wright Construction was low bid.
The scope of the project was to completely demolish the home team side of the existing stadium down to the existing track surrounding the field. The build back included a full-length masonry and stone wall along the track, full field-length concrete bleachers, and a three level press box, concession, and restroom facility. The work was completed between football seasons.
