Walmart Distribution Centers

Walmart Distribution Centers

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

As Project Executive for Walmart’s distribution center program, Tom Wright was responsible for leading projects from preconstruction through final turnover, ensuring that safety, quality, budget and schedule objectives were consistently achieved. He directed all phases of development and construction, including site preparation, concrete foundations, structural steel erection, building enclosure and the installation of specialized warehouse and logistics systems.

Under Tom’s leadership, the program encompassed a diverse portfolio of facilities supporting Walmart’s rapidly expanding supply chain network. Projects included dry goods distribution centers of up to 1.1 million square feet, fully refrigerated grocery distribution facilities exceeding 880,000 square feet, truck maintenance centers supporting Walmart’s private transportation fleet and highly automated food distribution centers designed to enhance operational efficiency, inventory management and product handling.

Tom also oversaw the development of several large-scale import distribution centers averaging 4 million square feet in key logistics markets. These facilities served as critical hubs within Walmart’s national supply chain network, facilitating the efficient movement of goods throughout the United States and supporting the company’s continued growth.
